This year’s Kora Shriners Ride-In and BBQ Competition event is at the Ossipee Valley Fairgrounds in Hiram, Maine and is a three-day event, running from August 23 - August 25, with camping on site. The Ride-In is a Shriners Hospital fundraiser that promotes awareness and recognizes local patients and their experiences.
The BBQ competition has grown to a fully sanctioned Kansas City Barbeque Society points-based contest and is proclaimed by the State of Maine to be a State Championship event. There are over 35 Professional teams from all over the country and Canada registered so far, with more coming. Also, a new Steak Grilling Contest.
The Kids Q will feature six Shriners Hospital patients competing to see who can cook the best turkey burger, along with approximately 20 other Kids Pit Masters. Especially exciting is having former Shriners Hospital’s Patient and two times America’s Got Talent finalist Kechi Okwuchi as their guest. Come to hear her beautiful voice and amazing story of recovery.
