The Baldwin Historical Society will hold a meeting on June 26th at 7 p.m. They will show a documentary about the search for the Civil War submarine “Hunley.” The 40ft “H.L.Hunley” was
built in Mobile, AL in July 1863. It was shipped to Charleston, N.C. in August and sank that same month killing 5 crew men. It sank again in October, killing a crew of 8. It sank for the last time in
Feb. of 1864 and was lost. Doug Noble will present the film and take questions. A 6 p.m. board meeting precedes the program.
