5/22/19 Saco River Corridor Commission Hearing

The Saco River Corridor Commission will hold a public hearing beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the Dayton Town Hall in Dayton, Maine.


The subject of the public hearing is a request from Michael Howe in Limerick, Maine, for a Hardship Variance from the Saco River Corridor Act, for relief of standards. The applicant is seeking a variance from the Saco River Corridor Commission’s Act, in the Limited Residential District, Title 38 M.R.S.A., 94-412. Chapter 107: Performance Standards Governing Expansions of Existing Nonconforming Uses, Including Structures. 3. E. “After September 1, 1983, in areas of the Saco River Corridor which are also within the Shoreland Zone established by 38 M.R.S.A. Section 435, if any portion of a structure does not meet applicable setback standards, that portion of the structure shall not be expanded in floor area or volume by 30% or more during the lifetime of the structure.” The location is at Lot #175, (Map #44), 139 Silver Lane, Limerick, Maine.

In order to be considered by the Commission, any written comments must be received in the Commission’s office no later than 4:00 p.m. on May 21, 2019. Oral testimony will be taken at the public hearing.
