On Monday, February 24, 2020, at 7:00 p.m., the Town of Hiram will hold a meet the candidates and informational meeting at Soldiers Memorial Library, 85 Main Street, Hiram.
The three people are running for a Municipal Officer position are:
Cory Hale
Karen James
Joyce Siracuse (incumbent)
The candidates will be present to answer questions, discuss priorities, and explain their interest in town operations.
The position (one of three Selectboard members) will be voted at Hiram's annual town meeting on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. Please note the town election is on Friday, March 6, 2020, with the polls open from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Following the candidate's panel discussion is an informational meeting regarding Town of Hiram vacant lands with maps, photos, and discussion of some town-owned properties as to how these may be used and whether townspeople wish to sell or retain them. The Conservation Committee and the Municipal Officer have visited each parcel and made recommendations.
Copies of the proposed Town of Hiram Driveway Ordinance will also be available. Recommendations for these properties and the ordinance will be voted on at the town meeting on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at the Sacopee Valley Middle School in the cafeteria/auditorium at 9:00 a.m.
